We have received many questions from pet parents on how to look after yourself and your pet during this difficult time. To help guide you, we’ve put together this list of FAQs.

Our team would like to extend our support to everyone in the Australian community who have been impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic.

We have received many questions from pet parents on how to look after yourself and your pet during this difficult time. To help guide you, we’ve put together this list of FAQs.

Are your factories currently operating?

We would like to take this opportunity to reassure you that our pet food manufacturing factories will continue to operate. Our products are Australian made and are considered part of Australia’s essential food supply chain.

Do you have stock available?

Our incredibly dedicated teams are working hard to keep our retailers in stock. We are also following all recommended practices for employee health and safety.

Can my pet catch Coronavirus?

Based on current evidence from around the world, human-to-animal cases are very rare. There is also no evidence of people catching the virus from their pet.

What can I do to protect myself and my pet?

  • Maintain social distancing
  • Wash your hands frequently
  • Avoid touching your face
  • Cover your face with a tissue or use your elbow when you cough or sneeze
  • Avoid close facial proximity to your pet’s eyes, nose and mouth

What should I do with my pet if I get sick?

Take extra precautions around your pets. Wash your hands before and after touching your pet, and where possible, isolate yourself away from your pet.

Can I still take my dog for a walk?

Yes, having physical outdoor exercise is a great idea for you and your pet. Just make sure you stay at least 1.5 metres away from others.

How can I prepare for a lockdown?

There are steps you can take to ensure your pet’s health and well-being should a lockdown occur:

  • Ensure your pet’s vaccinations are up to date
  • Check your pet for any lumps that need to be seen by your vet
  • Make sure you have enough pet medications and treatments
  • Ensure you have enough pet food to last for an extended period

What if my pet needs medical attention?

Vets are considered essential services and are still open. If you have concerns about your pet’s health, contact your vet via the phone as a first step.
