How many times a day should I feed my Cat or Kitten?

You can feed your Cat one or two meals a day with our foods, if feeding twice daily be sure to split the daily feeding amount in half for each meal. Feeding more than once a day may help to prevent bloat and aid in better digestion.
Kittens should have their feeds split into 2-4 servings.

Your feeding guide suggests to feed less food than my current food, why?

Not all foods are made the same, the specification of our food is very high. We have a higher meat content and no fillers like wheat, rice or corn meaning you often need to feed less of our foods. Our guides are based on recommended calorie intake by weight, keep in mind however our feeding guides are just that, as feeding will also depend on breed, age and level of activity, if in doubt speak to your trusted veterinarian.

My Cat is overweight, what do you recommend?

Our entire Adult Cat range is suitable for weight management as it contains a high meat content and no fillers. Also be sure to check you are feeding in accordance with our guidelines and not overfeeding, remembering adding additional snacks and meals to your Cat's diet will add calories outside of what we recommend. Frequent activity is also ideal for weight management.

Why do you use meat meal in your ingredients?

Not to be mistaken for generic "meat meal" or "animal meal" our meals are a great source of protein. Using a meal opposed to a fresh meat in  allows us to retain more meat content in the end product. Fresh meat contains a high water content, of which is only removed during the cooking process. The meal used in our foods is essentially the fleshy meat of the Kangaroo, Chicken or fish that is stewed down to remove the water content which then forms a meal.

What is the salt content of your foods?

Salt naturally occurs in meats and our foods contain a low level of salt at just 0.75%

Are your foods balanced for every day feeding?

Yes. all of our foods meet the Australian standards and that of the AAFCO and are a complete balance diet for everyday feeding, which means you don’t need to add extra supplements unless specifically recommended by your veterinarian.

Is the feeding guide for my kitten's current weight or estimated adult weight?

The guides are based on your kitten's current weight and are increased gradually as they grow.

Will my cat put on weight with this food if he/she isn’t very active?

Unlikely, unless you’re overfeeding. Our foods by industry standard are lower in calories than most, this is represented on our packs in MJ, of which can also be shown as;

Adult Ocean Fish & Salmon 3,700 Kcal/kg
Adult Chicken & Kangaroo 3,700 Kcal/kg
Kitten Chicken 3,700 Kcal/kg

How should I store my food?

Like all food products, our foods are sensitive to moisture and changes in temperature, therefore to ensure your food stays fresh, it should be stored within the bag resealed at all times in a cool dry place, away from heat, direct sunlight and/or humidity. We recommend that once opened our foods are consumed within 3 months.

Why is there sometimes variation in colour of the kibble?

As we use no artificial colourings, dyes or preservatives in our foods the final colour will vary according to the colour of the raw ingredients. The ingredients and nutritional value in every bag remains the same, regardless of the colour.

My Cat is experiencing loose stools.

Your cat may experience loose stools during the transition period, this is common when switching to a new food. Loose stools can also occur when changing to different meat protein in your cats diet or as a result from overfeeding. If your cat+ doesn’t experience firmer stools after a couple of days, we recommend speaking with your veterinarian.

What if my cat has been diagnosed with an allergy to Chicken or Fish?

We have developed our Ocean Fish & Salmon recipe to contain no Chicken for those cats with allergies and our Chicken and Kangaroo formula for those who with Fish allergies.

How often should I change formulas for my Cat?

Just like humans your cat may get bored eating the same food every day, we suggest switching our formulas every few months so they can experience our full range of unique proteins. During this transition we recommend introducing the new formula slowly over a period of 3 days.

My cat won't eat the food or I have an issue with one of your products.
